Okay, so this slow cooker apple cobbler is a little more involved. Takes about 30 minutes prep. time (most of that is peeling & cutting up apples), but it’s so worth it. And as an added bonus, it will make your home smell yummy. Serves 8 – 10. Costs less than $10.
To make slow-cooker apple cobbler, you’ll need:
- 6 cups thinly-sliced apples
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 beaten egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup raisins or chopped walnuts (optional)
To make slow-cooker apple cobbler, follow these directions:
- Peel, core, & slice up apples. Add to slow-cooker.
- Combine 1/4 cup sugar & ground cinnamon then add to crock-pot. Mix well with apples, making sure when you’re done that the apples are in an even layer.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat egg then stir in milk and melted butter.
- Add egg mixture to flour mixture & stir until blended.
- Add in raisins or walnuts & stir until blended (optional).
- Pour batter evenly over top of apples in slow-cooker. Do not stir.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3 1/2 to 4 hours or until edges start to brown & the center on top is mostly cooked but may still be a bit moist.
- Let cool for about 30 minutes before cutting into servings.
- Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream, and/or caramel drizzled over top.
